Starr Instruments CTR-1000s is designed for users that need to measure coating thickness on metallic substrates in areas that can be difficult to access such as inside h-beams, chassis rails, grooves and recesses.
The CTR-1000s has many uses in industry and one of the most common would be measuring the thickness of paint, such as the thickness of paint on a metal panel found on car parts.
The reason for such testing is to ensure a coating is thick enough to be able to protect the substrate and also to minimise waste by ensuring the coating is not too thick.
By having the separate probe for measurement the CTR-1000s can measure in difficult to access areas such as the drainage channels under the bonnet of a car. The results are displayed on the backlit LCD screen along with statistical data such as the minimum, maximum and average.
